Through CIFA, he aims to build a long-term platform integrating infrastructure understanding, finance, governance, policy and intelligence systems. G Ramachandran is a financial and digital systems designer. He provides solutions, structures and strategies to the financial sector (investment banks), enterprises, companies and governments

He was a member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) Economists Forum a World Bank consultant and a member of the Government of India’s steering committees on disinvestment, financial and commodity derivatives, clearing houses and warehouses between 1992 and 2004.

He was a senior vice president at UTI Securities and enabled India’s Disinvestment Commission in its efforts aimed at offering and listing the equities of India’s Navratna public sector enterprises.

He graduated from the College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and industrial engineering. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and was a teaching-research fellow in accounting and finance at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA.
